Monday morning
Nov. 15th, 2021 04:35 amPreparing for work, waking up. I'm pleased to have a note from a friend.
The forecast is for some rain today, the temperatures not reaching 50. A good day for November.
Yesterday I hung towels out to dry, though the day was cloudy with highs in the lower 50s. I also harvested the lone pumpkin in the patch. I hope I did not leave it too late. The pumpkin weighs a little over 4 pounds, the colour is just a little more orange than the butternut squash. There are some imperfections and worrisome spots on it. I'm letting it dry and checking it. If it holds up, it will be cooked for Thanksgiving. If it looks like it will not last, I will cook it this week.
This is my first holiday in retail at the grocery store. We had a meeting at work last Thursday to prepare us mentally for it - the CSRs (Customer Service Representatives - the echelon between the managers and the cashiers/baggers). I hadn't realized that I was supposed to be a CSR - I thought I was just a busy-body trying to take care of those around me.
Time is marching on. I need to finish reading the comics, fix another cup of coffee and start my Portuguese lessons for today. Then to get dressed and go.
Morning routine.
